The Tampa Bay Rays have teamed up with The Highland Mint to produce a limited edition run of 250 Matt Garza plaques to commemorate the first no-hitter in Rays history. On July 26, 2010 at Tropicana Field, Garza threw a complete-game no-hitter against the Detroit Tigers to join baseball immortality.
In recognition of that honor, the Rays are offering individually numbered commemorative plaques with an actual ticket from that game, game-used dirt from Tropicana Field and a photo autographed by Garza. All of these items are authenticated by Major League Baseball.
The plaques are available for a limited time only for $199.99 beginning Friday, September 10, 2010. All proceeds will benefit the Rays Baseball Foundation.
Fans may own a piece of Rays history with this one-of-a kind custom piece by ordering online at http://www.raysbaseball.com/garzanono.
