Old friends to square off

Florida coach Will Muschamp and Tennessee’s Derek Dooley are old friends and it will be a little strange for both Saturday, considering they’ve worked together on staffs at LSU and with the Miami Dolphins.

“We stayed in touch and we talked quite a bit when he was at Texas and I was at Louisiana Tech and even last year we stayed in touch,’’ Dooley said. “We are good friends and professional competitors. He is going to want to whip me pretty good and I’m going to want to whip him pretty good.”

Muschamp said running back Jeff Demps (shoulder) and tight end Jordan Reed (ankle) should be ready for Saturday’s game. … The Sept. 24 game at Kentucky will kick off at 7 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2.
