At least according to TSN. Still waiting on confirmation, but sounds like it will be finalized and announced soon.
Recchi is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, having helped Pittsburgh to a title in 1991 and a key component as a trade acquisition for Carolina in 2006. He started last season with the Penguins but was placed on waivers after scoring eight points in 19 games. The 40-year-old was claimed by the Atlanta Thrashers on Dec. 8 and finished with 12 goals and 40 points in 53 games with the Thrashers.
In 1,410 career games, Recchi is nearly a point-a-game player with 522 goals and 1,381 points.

There is something going on here. These moves are not making sense. Do the new owners realy now what they are doing, or do they have a different agenda. You have to wonder. Seriously.

Roberts, now Recchi what’s next Gordie Howe coming out of retirement for the Old Goat Line? They keep this up and Olaf Kolzig will be one of the young punks on the team.

I guess the Lightning plan to institute an AARP game package next season.

EE, is Gratton too young of a forward to sign??? With Recchi’s bonus it amounts to over 2 million for one year. Sure glad the money is not being wasted on defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, still no defense, this is not good.

It’s clear we are getting ready to deal a couple of forwards, likely for a defenseman and a pick. My guess is Ouellet and Jokinen. I’d take Recchi over either of these two. Ouellet is a UFA after this year and Jokinen is an RFA.
