Another first in University of South Florida history: the Bulls officially sold out Friday’s game with West Virginia Tuesday afternoon.
The ESPN2 nationally televised contest shapes up as the biggest college football event played in the city of Tampa.
Previously, the city’s highest-profile games were the 2005 Outback Bowl (No. 8 Georgia vs. No. 16 Wisconsin) and the 1984 season opener at Tampa Stadium between No. 10 Miami, the defending national champion, and No. 17 Florida.
But the combined Associated Press rankings Friday night - No. 5 WVU and No. 18 USF - is unprecedented in the city’s college football history.

On the Sunday’s newspaper the college sports section shows the “How the Top 25 Fared”. In theprevious years the list used to be on the left side column with the team logos. I would find it better if that section was shown like the previous year. It would be greatly appreciated if the college section was shown how it wasin the previous years. Thank You.

MRada, the game will be televised on ESPN2. And Micaias, you’re right we changed the Top 25 listings this year and put them across the top of the page. Sorry, but there aren’t any plans to move them back down the left side - at least none this year.
