For the first time since 2008, the Rays failed to earn a Gold Glove, which means Evan Longoria’s reign as the American League’s top defensive third baseman ended at two straight years.
1B Casey Kotchman, Longoria and LF Sam Fuld were nominated for the awards, which were announced Tuesday night on ESPN2.
Adrian Gonzalez was named the AL Gold Glove winner at first base, Adrian Beltre won the award at third base and Alex Gordon was named the best-fielding left fielder in the AL.
The awards were voted on by the managers and coaches in each league.
