Forum: Talk Rays

Good evening from the Trop, where rumor has it, it’s 72 degrees. Marc Lancaster is off. You’re stuck with me, and no, they aren’t staging a sprint car race around the warning track.
The big pregame news is that ace shortstop Jason Bartlett and left fielder Carl Crawford will miss starts in tonight’s series opener against the Indians. Bartlett took a pitch to the right index finger in Sunday’s victory over Detroit, and Crawford has a sore left hamstring. Willy Aybar will play short, with Evan Longoria, who could play the position, staying at third. Eric Hinske starts in left and Gabe Gross, who made a spectacular catch in a victory of Detroit last Friday, starts in right.
Rocco Baldelli took batting practice and shagged fly balls, but the Rays put off a decision on adding him to the roster another day. It sounds like the decision has mostly been made that Baldelli will be added for a part-time role.
Here are tonight’s lineups:
INDIANS
