No arrests have been made involving the Brandon Park shooting on Friday in which Florida lineman Matt Patchan and former Armwood teammate Wesley Skiffington were gunshot victims, Hillsborough Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Debbie Carter said Tuesday.
Patchan and Skiffington were shot by an unknown black male described as between 6-foot and 6-4 and 220 pounds.
Skiffington and Patchan were at the park with a group of friends at 9:58 p.m. Friday when another group of individuals approached them and the man started shooting at the crowd, Carter said. Patchan was hit in the shoulder, and Skiffington in the foot.
Patchan and Skiffington could not be reached for comment.
Armwood coach Sean Callahan said Patchan had the bullet removed from his shoulder on Tuesday.
In a statement released by the university Monday, Florida football coach Urban Meyer said Patchan is “expected to fully recover in three weeks.”
