PORT CHARLOTTE - Rays top prospect Desmond Jennings will be held out of today’s game against the Orioles with swelling in his left elbow after getting hit by a pitch Wednesday, manager Joe Maddon said.
“Really sore today, and definitely no activity for today,” Maddon said. “He’s just going to work on getting the swelling down. It’s all good; it’s just sore. And it did balloon up a bit.”
Jennings, wearing a sleeve with a bandage above the elbow, said earlier this morning he was fine.
