NEWARK, N.J. - Lightning defenseman Janne Niskaka has cleared waivers and will be re-assigned to Europe. For the time being, Niskala has been assigned to the Finnish national team as the European leagues are on a break. Tampa Bay general manager Brian Lawton said Niskala will wind up with a team in the Finnish Elite league and can be recalled by the Lightning any time before the trade deadline, although he would be subject to recall waivers.
