Thought I would pass along an update I received earlier in regards to the release of the NHL schedule. I guess the league needs to extend the release out two days to get its exposure worth out of the process. So my understanding is that now on Wednesday each team will have its home opener announced (Tampa Bay vs. Pittsburgh on Oct. 11???) along with the three “wildcard’’ games, which are the three extra games after playing five each against division opponents, four against remaining conference opponents and one each against the opposite conference. In all liklihood, for Tampa Bay that means the three Western Conference teams the Lightning will play a home-and-home against.
The rest of the schedule will now be released on Thursday around noon time. (And no, that information did not come from somebody inside the league office who logged on to the blog and felt obliged to correct my information. Actually, I think the league is just trying to extend my consecutive days of writing to 165

It is probably because the bolts are trying to play home games during the superbowl next year, The new owners are wanting to be in tampa when the superbowl plays in Tampa

Alot of teams already have their preseason schedules out, Not the lightning yet, but of all the teams that have posted them the lightning are not anyones opponent, including some of the bigger name teams. Anyone heard of the lightnings preseason (other than the two games in Germany, and opening night oct 11 againts the pens)?
