Former Jesuit football standout John Plasencia recently helped the United States win the inauguarl International Federation of American Football Junior World Championship in Canton, Ohio.
Anyone interested in seeing the former Tigers standout tight end/defensive end representing the country on the gridiron now will get the chance.
The NFL Network announced that it will re-air USA’s gold-medal-game victory over Canada on Saturday at 8 p.m. The Northwestern University-bound Plasencia, who was named to the IFAF all-tournament team, contributed heavily in USA’s 41-3 rout of Canada, hauling in a touchdown pass in that game.
The inaugural IFAF Junior World Championship tournament consisted of the world’s eight-best high school-aged national football teams spanning four continents. The next tournament will occur in 2012.
