Former Newsome two-way star Joe Worth has cracked the Navy roster.
Worth walked on the Navy football team and made enough of an impression to secure a permanent spot on the roster.
Last season for the Wolves, Worth led the team with 99 tackles, in addition to three sacks, two forced fumbles and three passes defensed. Worth also led the team with 24 receptions for 401 yards.
He was the main target of his brother, Newsome’s quarterback Will Worth, who will be a junior this season.
Worth joins fellow Hillsborough County alumnus, John Hendrick, Sickles former quarterback on the roster. Navy opens the season on Sept. 3 against Delaware.
