Newsome’s Tucker hopes to return next week

Newsome’s offense was a bit shorthanded in Friday’s season-opening loss to Armwood as senior running back Darnell Tucker watched from the sidelines.
Tucker suffered an ankle injury during the Wolves’ Kickoff Classic against Spoto. Tucker said the injury isn’t serious and he hopes to return for the Wolves’ big Week 2 matchup at Jefferson.
Newsome coach Kenneth Hiscock has raved about the 5-foot-7, 160-pound speedster, hoping Tucker would be a nice compliment to the power running style of junior fullback Conner Powers.
