Inside the Newsome football team’s locker reads the phrase “Never give up, never quit.”
The Wolves (3-3) will have to live that motto Thursday when they take on Durant in a game that could decide which team advances to the region playoffs out of Class 7A District 8.
“We’ve gone (to the playoffs) for three years and hopefully we can make it another year,” Newsome coach Ken Hiscock said.
In order to do that, Hiscock said his players will have to fully execute the game plan, something they failed to do in their last game against Brandon, which they lost 34-0.
“(Durant) is physical,” he said. “We can’t let them out-muscle us like Brandon did.”
Newsome was on a bye last week, giving the Wolves ample time to prepare for perhaps their biggest game of the year.
“It’s a do or die situation for us,” Hiscock said. ”
