Newsome defender Jackie Simpson has verbally committed to the University of South Florida according to Wolves’ coach Kelly Townsend.
Simpson, the Wolves sweeper and defensive captain helped the Wolves to 25-1 record and a Class 5A state runner-up finish. During her junior season the Wolves had 18 shutouts and allowed only nine goals.
Simpson chipped in on offense with 13 goals and six assists and has been a huge threat on set pieces for the Wolves over the past two seasons. She has earned Tampa Tribune All-Hillsborough County first team honors two straight years and was a first team member of the Western Conference girls soccer team.
