It’s mid-February, and folks are actually talking about USF and March Madness in the same breath.
Yep, strange but fun times around the Sun Dome these days for USF basketball fans.
The Bulls are vying for their first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 18 years—and just the third in the program’s 39-year history—and first postseason trip of any kind in eight years.
Tampa Tribune columnist Martin Fennelly sets the scene in his latest column on TBO.com.
Also, since football season never really ends, here is column on Bulls coach Skip Holtz by the Orlando Sentinel from Sunday’s Daytona 500, an event that Holtz is a big, big fan. He also likes hoops quite a bit, which is why he was courtside for the Bulls’ win over Cincinnati on Tuesday night.
Finally, if you want a look at a Cincinnati perspective from last night’s game, here is the game story in today’s Cincinnati Enquirer. If you don’t think the game mattered as much to the Bearcats, check out the picture of Coach Mick Cronin and read some of those 250 comments.

Scott, USF has been to the NCAA Tournament 2 times. The years were 1990 and 1992.

Tyler, you are correct…that was a brain cramp on my part…I should have third in the program’s 39 years…I’ll correct that…thanks for reading and taking the time to play editor…I can always use an extra one.
