Navarro to DL; DiFelice up

NEW YORK—Dioner Navarro was placed on the 15-day disabled list following the game with lacerations on the middle and ring fingers of his right hand. Navarro had a total of 12 stitches at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and has already returned to the team hotel.

The Rays purchased the contract of Mike DiFelice, who is expected to be here tomorrow. They cleared a 40-man spot for him by placing Juan Salas, who apparently has not yet officially reported, on the restricted list.

Shawn Riggans will be the starter from here on out with DiFelice backing up. And in case you were wondering, Elliot Johnson was the emergency catcher tonight. He even went down and caught in the bullpen during the game, just in case.

this is the best thing that could have happened for the rays.navarros lack of hitting has cost this team atleast four runs already, his lack of defense would cost the team more.good chance for riggans to prove that he really should be our starting catcher..
