Rays catcher Dioner Navarro is not among the pitchers and catchers participating in the first workout this morning.
Navarro is back at home in Venezuela to deal with a family emergency—his mother has fallen ill. The Rays aren’t sure when their starting receiver will return to camp.
Other than Navarro, the only apparent absentee is the expected one, Juan Salas.
