Looks like the Nate Campbell-Joan Guzman tilt has found a home – Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, Ms.
Campbell (32-5-1, 25 KOs) will put up his IBF, WBO and WBA lightweight belts on the line Sept. 13 against Guzman (28-0, 17 KOs) in his first title defense since beating Juan Diaz for the titles in March.
The event, which will be aired live on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET, will co-feature Wauchula’s Edner Cherry (24-5-2, 12 KOs) against WBC super lightweight champion Timothy Bradley (22-0, 11 KOs).
Tampa promoter, Terry Trekas, also Campbell’s promoter, tried to have the fight in Tampa, but potential sites couldn’t be secured, plus an MMA event was being held in Tampa the same night. He also considered Campbell’s hometown of Jacksonville for the event, which is co-promoted by Don King Productions and Trekas’ One Punch Productions, in association with Sycuan Ringside Promotions.
