TALLAHASSEE – I’ll cut to the chase: I think Florida State’s interior lines and FSU’s offense against USF’s defense gives the Seminoles the big edge against the Bulls. Also add in B.J. Daniels making his first start and I’ll go with FSU 41-17.
All those entered in the picks contest are predicting a closer outcome: FSU 27-25. You can still enter this week’s picks contest by clicking here.
Check back here for more during the day and I’ll post scoring updates throughout the game – if you don’t have ESPNU – on my Twitter account that you can follow by clicking here.
Here’s a column in today’s Tribune from Martin Fennelly about Bobby Bowden’s thoughts about USF. Fennelly reports:
“Bobby Bowden knows what South Florida is chasing today at Doak Campbell Stadium in the teams’ first meeting. Bowden explained to his Florida State players just where USF is coming from.
“It’s easy,” Bowden said. “I’ve been there. South Florida is doing what we did. When I came here, it seemed like every week we were going into somebody’s stadium trying to get somewhere.”
Bobby knows.
“They’re trying to make their place.”

What! The Vegas oddsmakers only had FSU by 13 or 14. And you’re our beat reporter? I thing we deserved better than that. PS I’ve been saying 24-21 USF in overtime. I’m gonna have to complain to the Trib for a new reporter! We forgive you, but don’t let it happen again.

Nice pick Murphy. The AP really should take your vote away. And the Trib should move you to cover the Classified section. Do you watch any football on Saturday?
