Here’s my AP ballot for this week. With seven teams in the Top 25 losing, including four in the top 10, there is a Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin On in this week’s poll.
And welcome back to USF. I voted the Bulls No. 19 with their dominating victory against Florida State. I don’t know if the rest of the nation will be sold on the Bulls, so I wouldn’t expect USF to be in the Top 25 this week.
The AP poll should be released around 1 p.m. today.
My AP ballot
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. Virginia Tech
6. Boise State
7. Houston
8. Ohio State
9. Cincinnati
10. TCU
11. Oklahoma
12. USC
13. Iowa
14. Nebraska
15. Oregon
16. Oklahoma State
17. Penn State
18. California
19. South Florida
20. Miami
21. Georgia
22. South Carolina
23. Ole Miss
24. Michigan
25. BYU

While the Koozee Kingdom respects Brett McMurphy’s poll, the Koozee Kingdom has prepared its own list. Here is the Koozee Kingdom Top-25: 1 Florida; 2 Texas; 3 Alabama; 4 LSU; 5 Virginia Tech; 6 Boise State; 7 Iowa; 8 TCU; 9 Houston; 10 Oklahoma State; 11 Georgia; 12 BYU; 13 Oregon; 14 Penn State; 15 Kansas; 16 Michigan; 17 Cincinnati; 18 Cal; 19 Oklahoma; 20 USC; 21 Ohio State; 22 South Carolina; 23 Miami; 24 Mississippi; 25 USF.
The Koozee Kingdom is now taking questions.

Brett, while USF’s win was very impressive and they beat FSU in Tallahassee, I think I would have picked Bulls to be 21 or 22 at this point. I know that some of my reluctance to rank them higher is probably due to past years when USF was over-ranked early, but I think it’s too early to tell where this team racks and stacks against nation’s elite. This team needs to stay hunger and not feel fulfilled with this big win. I hope that they don’t let up at Syracuse, as a convincing win at Syracuse should have them ranked by both main polls. I hate to look ahead, but the Thurs nationwide tv game against Cincinnati is going to be a huge event - but only if Bulls are 5-0. What a win!

Brett, does this mean that you think USF can beat Miami? I sure do, and I look forward to UF and USF being the Big 2 in the State of Florida

I actually disagree with the USF’s placing….because their “resume” has not been overly impressive until the victory over FSU, I think I would have left them out until after the SU game to see how well they handle a team they are supposed to beat after such an emotional game.

And Cal’s resume has been better?

Koozee, stick to your day job ;^). Dalatorr, you raise a good point. My poll is not a prediction of who would beat who, it’s what teams have done up to this point. Tyler, Cal crushed Maryland and had a decent road win at Minnesota. Obviously getting seal clubbed at Oregon isn’t a good sign. I didn’t drop Cal all the way out, because I still believe they are a Top 25 team. Now if they lose to USC this week by double digits, I’ll probably bounce them out of my poll.

bert…i disagree that usf is a top 20 team…i think the polls that came out have it right….usf beat up on 3 weak sisters and then beat fsu who you didn’t have ranked in your poll last week…i agree with hector that a wait and see this week posture is the way to go

Hello,
There is no way usf deserves to be ranked. If they win this week, then yes. The main problem is that Miami go smoked by Va Tech. IF Miami wins or covers, usf deserves to be ranked #24.
