Although Florida coach Will Muschamp was soft-spoken regarding the news of Texas A&M potentially joining the Southeastern Conference, he did offer his take on the future of the league as a whole.
“I really think we’re headed to the 16-team leagues eventually,” Muschamp said. “But, whatever our conference decides upon, that’s fine.”
Muschamp said that the addition of Texas A&M could have an effect on recruiting in the SEC, as he considers Texas and Florida “the two most talented states in the country as far as high school players are concerned.”
Still, Muschamp emphasized that Florida’s top priority will continue to be recruiting locally, as he believes there are enough good players in Florida to win a championship.
