Maybe Demetris Murray is just extremely modest. Then again, he’s probably just extremely smart.
After all, a running back won’t do much without solid play from the offensive line, so it’s best to keep the big men up front happy. Murray seems to understand that point.
“Everything starts with the guys up front,” the Bulls sophomore said Sunday, one day after his career-best 115-yard effort (on 15 carries) in a win over Western Kentucky.
Those watching Murray, who leads the team in rushing with 232 yards while averaging 6.6 yards per carry, seem willing to throw a bit more credit his way, and rightfully so. He has been a huge spark for the running game, one that has not only been welcomed but needed.
