Plant junior quarterback Aaron Murray made up his mind weeks ago and couldn’t wait any longer to let everyone know.
Aaron Murray
He didn’t do the “hat thing” or open his shirt to reveal his choice. Murray simply stated where he will play college football.
Murray announced he will attend the University of Georgia on Thursday at the Panthers fieldhouse. Hillsborough County’s leading passer selected the Bulldogs over the Florida Gators. He’s on schedule to graduate from Plant in December so he can early enroll at Georgia in January and participate in spring practice.
Before his announcement on Thursday, Murray had received 54 scholarship offers from Division I schools including Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and LSU. In recent weeks, he took unofficial visits to Georgia, Florida and UCLA.
One of the top passers in the nation, Murray set a state record last season with 51 touchdown passes. He’s garnered national accolades such as his selection as the first quarterback for the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp and the Army All-American Bowl Game.

Good choice !!! Urban Cryer and The ##### lose again. I think he will be happy he chose a man like Richt to play for in the long run. Meyer will be exposed in time.

Urban will be exposed in what way? How many National Championships does Richt have?

Thank goodness we have a decision. Now maybe we can read about other student athletes. It is baseball season and the district playoffs yet all we hear about is Aaron Murray and Plant. Good luck Aaron now, TBO move on!!!!

I wonder if Orson Charles will be following Aaron to UGA

“How many National Championships does Richt have?”
He was the QB Coach on a national championship team in 93 and the OC on one in 99.

The Bulldog Nation would like to send a warm welcome to Mr. Murray along with an invitation to experience the love affair we have with our players to all the talented players in the Sunshine State. Gator nation, you started playing football in 1991, so your’re to young a squad with no tradition or history to draw from. So you’ll now begin to realize that football is cyclical. And the next 25 years will resemble Dooley’s 25, when we were 17-7&1 against you guys with 2 titles of our own. Hope all that smack you guys talked for the last 10 years plus was fun…

Georgia fans - He knew he wouldn’t play at Florida. THAT’S why he went to Georgia. Meyer exposed? ROFL They’re selling some good stuff north of the border.

HE HAS A BETTER CHANCE WITH THE GATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUH
Suggest removalPor (jb) on April 24, 2008 (Suggest removal)
He went with his brain, not his heart. This guy would not see the field for at least 4 years with the Gators. Tebow is staying another 2 years, and then Brantley/Newton another 2. he could have red-shirted and had 2 years to see field for Florida, but he would have had to wait out the Tebow, then the Brantley eras. At UGA, he just has to wait out the current QB era.
Would Florida have taken him? yes in a second. Are we in bad shape he didn’t choose the Gators? No, because we’re planned out for next 4 years. Do we still need a QB in this class? Yes, because 1 of Brantley or Cam is going to transfer whoever doesn’t win the job after Tebow. Still stings to lose a Blue Chipper from your backyard? yes. We need to focus on RB’s.

Good choice for this qb to go to UGA, he has no chance to play w/Tebow, Cam Newton and Brantly on the Gator roster for the next 3 years. UGA will be looking for a new qb after next season. UGA better get it done this year, or it will be the same old sour grapes! UF has 2 titles (NC, not SEC) in the last 11 seasons and has owned the sorry pups for the last 2 decades - this better be the year for the Dawgs; but we all know they’ll choke on it - probably to USC, UF or Auburn. Go Gators!

Meyer will probably be exposed as a cheater and man of low integrity in the long run. I haven’t seen him coach very well when he is under pressure or things are not going his way. As far as his national title, Florida lost a game that year, they were no better than UGA when we went 13 and 1 4 or 5 years ago or last year when we could have been in the mnc game. The only thing that counts is the SEC championship, it is decided on the field. Florida just got lucky on it being the right year to get in with a loss, just like LSU got lucky with 2 losses last year. Auburn didn’t get in with 0 losses in 2004, the system doesn’t really produce a national champion…I will still say that if UGA wins it in 2008.

I love how yall try to feel better by saying that you didn’t need him in your class or that he wouldn’t play for 4 years in UF’s system. New flash:Matt Stafford has 2 years left, then its a fellow named Logan Gray from Missouri, who you all will be hearing about in three years when he and the dawgs run all over you in JAX. So don’t act like your all high and mighty that you are soooo stocked at QB the kid never had a chance to play.Fact is, the situation is very, very similar in Athens. So why don’t you just admit it- you lost AGAIN to the Dawgs on this one. Dont worry a/b QBs, I’d work on defense down there some, or else UGA will but 50 up on you this year. But hey, at least you got that super cool heisman, does he play defense too?
Suggest removalPor (David B. Martin) on April 24, 2008 (Suggest removal)
Great choice, Aaron! Coach Mark Richt will have his National Championships before it’s all said and done…don’t worry that Gator Nation…he’s just getting started. Richt is the ONLY UGA coach in history to win 2 Sugar Bowls, and he did that rather quickly. UGA is 3 and 4 deep with Blue Chip All-Americans on both sides of the ball…and we also have the TOP PLACE-KICKER coming in. If Tebow thought our defense was fast last year wait until he sees the team this year…and we’ve added Akeem Hebron to the line-backing corps…and he’s a freak.

its hard living in ga with all these gator haters. i guess with whatthe gators has done to them dogs over the past 20 years i know why. keep trying bulldogs.that goes for basketball to!!after the way tenn blew yall away and we spanked them by 40 points. good thing tebo was hurt when we played last year.

Tebow had a sore left shoulder last year that wasn’t even his throwing arm. We sacked his ##### 6 times. We didn’t have Shockley a couple years back and he was REALLY hurt. Don’t worry #####…we’ll see you in October.

cam newton and john brantley are great quarterbacks and aaron murray would be ridding the bench for atleast two years. if georgia wins the national championship this year…as expected. matt stafford will go pro. So a good move on murray’s part. also florida’s spread attack doesn’t suit him as well as georgia’s pro-style offense. so congrats aaron murray.
oh and this is a typical tbo article.
PLant Plant Plant.
football season has been over for how many months now?
yeah exactly.
plant gets their bathrooms moppped and tbo finds a way to assimilate that into their web site. plutocratic bias…its so american…

with all this talk I could swear GA have been a dominat team in the SEC the past decade you guys have murray wow and you guys won last year i will respect that but remember that was a really young defence GA should expect the same treatment they always get from the gators GA and Tenn are florida beaten sticks so you guys can have mr. murray but you guys think you going to win a national championship with him ha all i can do is laugh we will give the good treatment in jacksonville this year remember the same one from the past decade

One more question.. What was the final score last year of the uga vs uf game? AND WHERE DID UGA FINISH IN THE NATIONAL RANKING AFTER GETTING THE SHAFT FROM THE BCS, AND WHAT IS THE REASON UF LOST TO PATHETIC MICHIGAN AGAIN, AND WHERE DID THEY FINISH IN THE FINAL RANKINGS????
HA HA HA ... The SILENCE speaks for it’s self!!
GOOOO DAWGSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! #1

ga in the national championship game?? get real. how can you loose that many games and not even win you own division or the sec championship and expect to go! as far as stafford.i how many interceptions has he thrown ??enough said.

Mike:
Cam Newton and John Brantley are “Great” QBs? They may be talented, but “Great”? Based on what? Newton did mop up work last season and Brantley hasn’t even taken a snap in a real game yet. Now both may turn into quality QBs at the college level but to call them “great” is a little premature don’t you think?
