A couple links to pass along to start the day:

First, the Tribune’s Joey Johnston writes on how the USF community is gearing up for the long-anticipated matchup with the Florida Gators.

And there’s the practice notebook from Wednesday, which touches on the return of OL Mark Popek and LB Sam Barrington set for his first start of the season.

ESPN.com’s Brian Bennett writes how the Bulls face the ultimate test against the Gators.

And The Bleacher Report compares Bulls QB B.J. Daniels and Gators QB John Brantley to determine which team holds the advantage at the position.

One extra thing to keep an eye on today is the announcement by Alonso High DE Anthony Chickillo. Chickillo, a four-star prospect according to Rivals.com, has USF among his final six choices, along with Florida, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee and Alabama. Chickillo’s press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m.
