Moore throws pain free

PORT CHARLOTTE Matt Moore sent smiles through the Rays on Wednesday morning when he played catch at 75 feet.
The left-hander had been sidelined the past two days because of a mild strain in his mid lower abdomen.
“Everything was good today,” Moore said. “Everything has been great the last few days, too. It was just a reassurance today that everything felt good and to go out there and throw and not have any pain.”
Manager Joe Maddon downplayed the injury all week, saying it was a non-issue at this point. That Moore threw pain free supports that claim.
Moore wasn’t sure what his next step entails, but Maddon said head athletic trainer Ron Porterfield plans to accelerate Moore’s throwing today.
