Forum: Talk Lightning

According to TSN, the Montreal Canadiens have traded Chris Higgins to the New York Rangers in exchange for All-Star center Scott Gomez. Nothing reported as of yet whether or not there is more involved, but does this impact the Lightning at all?
Well, not directly, of course, but with Montreal grabbing themselves a No. 1 center, does this end all the trade talk involving Vinny Lecavalier being moved to the Canadiens? In the short term (like the next seven hours), certainly as the Lightning captain is not going to be moved at all before his contract extension officially begins at 12:01 a.m. on July 1. In fact, I’ve been informed by those that should know that Lecavalier is not being moved anytime soon.
I guess we’ll have to keep an eye on this one, but perhaps now any talk of Lecavalier being moved will die down.
