Mitchell’s Williams headed to Morehead State

Mitchell softball pitcher Cori Williams has verbally committed to Morehead State University, which is a NCAA Division I school in Morehead, Ky., according to her mother, Danita, Wednesday afternoon.

Williams plans to officially sign with Morehead State on Nov. 10 and is coming off a solid junior season with the Mustangs. The senior struckout 150 batters last season and had an 11-5 record, with a 2.07 earned run average. She also did well at the plate, batting .288 and knocking in 20 runs for the Mustangs, who went 18-7 last spring.
