Mitchell standout senior MF Danielle Gottwik commits to UConn

Mitchell senior midfielder Danielle Gottwik has committed to Connecticut, girls soccer coach Karl Kukec confirmed via e-mail to the Tampa Tribune on Tuesday afternoon.
“I was told she verbally committed to UConn,” Kukec said in the e-mail.
Gottwik, a first team selection on the All-Pasco Tribune girls soccer team last season, had 11 goals and 12 assists as part of a talented Mustang midfield that helped the team post 18 shutouts and allow just 11 goals. Mitchell as the Class 3A-District 8 runner up last season.
The Huskies women’s soccer team was just 9-8-2 this past season and its leading goal scorer had just 10 goals.
