Mitchell softball coach Scott Bisbe had to think back. He knew his program has been the benefactor of a no-hitter, but he couldn’t recall any perfect games.
That’s because newly appointed ace Cortney Radke’s perfect game against Academy of the Holy Names Thursday is the program’s first. Radke collected 18 strikeouts in the, 4-0, Mustangs victory.
This accomplishment doesn’t surprise Bisbe.
“Radke is the kind of player – I remember last year I used to throw her in there, bases loaded with no outs,” Bisbe said. “She takes a challenge any time.”
The best contact the Jaguars managed was a line drive to right field, a grounder to short and a pop to third.
