Middleton receiver/quarterback Richard Benjamin escaped serious injury after being carted off the field in Friday night’s loss to Lennard.
Doctors examining Benjamin say he sustained a Grade 3 contusion of his right knee and quadriceps muscle. He’s expected to miss two weeks of action.
Middleton coach Alonzo Ashwood said Benjamin will visit a specialist on Monday to ensure that there is no cartilage or ligament.
The Division I prospect was injured in the third quarter of the Tigers game against Lennard. He was carted off the field following a 30-minute delay while coaches and medical officials tended to him.
