USF coach Lelo Prado wanted this Florida Four to become a reality, but he can’t be enjoying the opening game.
The Bulls trail 12-0 as Miami comes to bat here in the top of the sixth inning at Steinbrenner Field.
USF has committed three errors and starter Teddy Kaufman allowed four hits and seven runs in three-plus innings. Kaufman walked four and got little help from his defense.
Meanwhile, Miami starter Steven Ewing his a shutout working through five innings.
The good news here for Prado and Co. is that the weather cooperated. It’s cooled off, but the skies are clearing up for the Florida-Florida State game that will follow USF-Miami.
