The USF football team isn’t the only program with a big game in the near future.
The Bulls men’s soccer squad hosts Virginia Tech on Friday at 8 p.m. in a game that will be nationally-televised on the Fox Soccer Channel.
George Kiefer’s squad enters the game after notching its first win of the season Tuesday, a 2-0 win against Stony Brook.
USF (1-1-1 on the year) is 3-1-0 all-time against the Hokies, who enter the game at 0-2-0.
A couple other tidbits to pass along:
USF’s football team missed out on landing one of the top local recruits, as Alonso High DE Anthony Chickillo, a four-star prospect by Rivals.com, verbally committed to Miami on Thursday. Chickillo had the Bulls among his final six choices.
And, while the writer points out that it seemed more like a harmless slip of the tongue rather than a slight against the Bulls, a comment from Gators cornerback Janoris Jenkins probably won’t sit too well with USF fans.
