The Tampa Bay Storm have rewarded defensive lineman Tim McGill for his solid play this season, signing him to a two-year contract extension, Coach Tim Marcum confirmed after Monday’s practice.
“We’ve got him for another two years after this, ‘09 and 2010, and we’re really glad we did,” Marcum said. “He’s a big part of any kind of pass rush that we get, and you know what, he’s just going to get better.”
McGill has arguably been the Storm’s best defensive player this season. He leads the team in sacks with four, which is tied for ninth-best in the league, and he leads all Storm linemen with 12 tackles. He has been a force in the middle all season, even while being double-teamed virtually every play.
The Storm travel to Grand Rapids on Friday.
