FORT LAUDERDALE—Late word tonight from the Rays that Jake McGee, one of the organization’s top pitching prospects, has been diagnosed with a torn ligament in his elbow.
This is very bad news, obviously. Surgery is likely and McGee probably is facing a year or so on the sideline.
As always with Biscuits-related news, Stacy Long of the Montgomery Advertiser is all over this.
““They say it’s torn all the way. We’ll see,” McGee told the Advertiser. “It’s pretty disappointing, but we can’t change it now. I have to go forward from here.”

Many times pitchers come back stronger after Tommy John surgery.Perhaps McGee will come back throwing 100!! One positive about this is that he’s just 21 yrs old.
