TAMPA – It was only a walk-through, but Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy participated fully in it a Saturday after straining his right rotator cuff in a padded practice at One Buc Place the day before.
McCoy took his usual place with the Bucs first-team defense and went through the motions of plays like everyone else. Later he indicated he would not miss any playing time once the games begin late next week.
“I’ll be all right,’’ McCoy said without elaborating.
McCoy left Friday’s practice early after he strained his right rotator cuff making a pass rush move. The Bucs said the injury is not serious and that McCoy will be listed as day-to-day.
Bucs coach Raheem Morris said after the workout that McCoy is “practice-to-practice’’ for the time being and probably will be held out of Saturday’s padded night practice at Raymond James Stadium.
Morris said the Bucs will work on their two-minute offense, some goal-line play and will have a one-on-one competition between offensive and defensive linemen during the night workout. There will also be a quarterback accuracy competition.
Gates open at 5:30.
