Storm fullback/linebacker Torrance Marshall was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury, meaning he’ll miss Saturday’s season finale at the St. Pete Times Forum against the Los Angeles Avengers.
Marshall set a franchise single-season record with 23 rushing touchdowns this year. Along the way, he also set an AFL record by rushing for multiple touchdowns in six consecutive games.
In other moves, defensive back Reggie Lewis was signed from the practice squad to the active roster, and lineman Ernest Certain and linebacker Terrence Royal each were activated from injured reserve.
Also, there is an outside chance defensive lineman Tom Briggs could play Saturday night, according to a Storm media relations spokesperson. Briggs was ruled out for the season-finale Monday by Coach Tim Marcum, who said Briggs suffered broken ribs in last week’s loss at San Jose. However, more x-rays were taken and Briggs attended Friday’s walk through at the Forum.
