The scholarship offer total for Plant City junior Jordan Prestwood has reached double digits.
Florida State offered Wednesday, making it the Raiders’ standout tight end’s 10th offer to date, according to Coach Jason Strunk. The ninth came earlier this week from Rutgers.
Those two Division I programs join a list that includes Notre Dame, Auburn, USF, UCF, FIU, South Carolina, West Virginia and Purdue.
In addition, national champion Alabama is among the schools showing interest, as is Pac-10 powerhouse USC, according to Strunk.
Prestwood was a Tribune All-Hillsborough County first-team pick in 2009. At 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, some schools like Prestwood as an offensive lineman, while others love his athleticism and pass-catching ability and are recruiting him as a tight end.
