While his third-period turnover probably didn’t help his standing with the coaching staff, I would expect to see Krajicek put on re-entry waivers as soon as he can be in the hopes somebody picks him up at half price.
Here’s the official release from the team:
The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned defenseman Lukas Krajicek to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced.
Krajicek, 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, has played in 23 games with the Lightning this season, recording one assist and averaging 17:31 in ice time per game. He has played in 94 games with Tampa Bay dating back to last season. During his time with the Lightning, Krajicek has amassed two goals and 20 points.
A native of Prostejov, Czech Republic, Krajicek has played in 301 career NHL games with the Lightning, Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers. He has recorded 10 career goals, 70 points, five power play goals and two game-winning goals. Krajicek has also appeared in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games with Vancouver, recording two assists.
Krajicek was drafted by Florida in the first round, 24th overall, at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canucks from the Panthers with Roberto Luongo and a sixth round draft choice in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan Allen and Alex Auld on June 23, 2006. He was acquired by Tampa Bay with Juraj Simek from Vancouver in exchange for Shane O’Brien and Michel Ouellet.
