It will be Jeff Niemann this afternoon as the Rays return to Charlotte Sports Park after three days on the road.
The Blue Jays make their second and final trip to Port Charlotte this spring.
The Rays clubhouse is closed this morning for annual player’s union meeting.
At some point this morning, Rays manager Joe Maddon is expected to inform which pitcher (Wade Davis) will be the fifth starter and which (Andy Sonnanstine) will head to the bullpen.
Sean Rodriguez, felled by a migraine headache yesterday in Clearwater, will debut at third base, a position he played last September for the Durham Bulls.
Dioner Navarro is walking without crutches, so there is progress as he battles back from a bruised nerve in his left shin.
