ST. PETERSBURG 3B Evan Longoria (partially torn left hamstring) and INF Jeff Keppinger (broke big toe on right foot) are headed to Triple A Durham where they will each begin their minor league rehab assignments.
Longoria, who has missed 40 games, will workout with the team Friday and DH on Saturday.
Keppinger, who hasn’t played since May 19, will DH on Friday and play the field Saturday.
Rays manager Joe Maddon didn’t have the schedules behind Saturday, but it’s likely both will rejoin the Rays on the upcoming nine-game road trip.
