When the brand new Fivay High School opens in August, there will be one person from the following list leading the athletic department.
Thursday morning Fivay principal Angie Stone released the list of those who applied for the job. The interview process will begin Monday with an AD being selected within that week, Stone said.
The local applicants include Hudson athletic director and former volleyball coach Linda McQuade, Mitchell football assistant Andy Schmitz, Ridgewood football coach Chris Taylor, and Rams’ girls basketball coach Greg Bollinger, former River Ridge girls basketball coach Al Sorentino, Mitchell girls basketball coach Jacob Tavo, former Mitchell boys soccer coach Pio Rizzo, Lonnie DeWitt (Gulf), Flo Massaro (Hudson), Jason Kucera (Seven Springs Middle), Jeff Koos (Paul R. Smith), Mike Smith (Bayonet Point), and Albert Santiago (Anclote).
Out of county applicants include: Allie Turley (Hillsborough), John Larry (Pinellas County), Chad Mollick (Hillsborough), Steve Wight (Douglas, GA), Patrick Turner (South Carolina), Jason Montgomery (former Nature Coast AD and University of Virginia at Wise women’s basketball coach) and Matt Ferreira.
