Former USF coach Jim Leavitt is in Indianapolis this weekend for the NFL combine as a guest of the St. Louis Rams.
A Rams official told the Tribune on Friday that the team is providing Leavitt a credential to the event so he can market himself in an attempt to land a scouting or coaching job next season.
The Rams official said Leavitt is not consulting or helping the team evaluate players. St. Louis has the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
Leavitt is a friend of Tony Softli, vice president of player personnel for the Rams.
Leavitt was fired by USF on Jan. 8 and is currently seeking a financial settlement with the university to recoup a portion of the remaining five years on his contract when he was fired.
