Latest practice reports: Hillsborough, TBT

We finally made it out to Hillsborough and Tampa Bay Tech and what we saw was impressive at both camps.

Hillsborough coach Earl Garcia has a revamped staff, plenty of returning skill players, a defensive line that will rock your world and an overall work-ethic and family-like attitude that has Garcia smiling ear to ear.

Now, if he can just find a few more linemen. But that’s been the case for a few years in Seminole Heights.

Out on Orient Road, TBT has no such issues with linemen. In fact, they’re big—Armwood big. And that’s saying something. The Titans also boast loads of skill players, a new quarterback from Middleton, Aaron Midthus, new head coach Jayson Roberts, who has been here several years as the defensive coordinator, and a new offensive coordinator, Mo Harris, a former star running back at Jesuit and Hillsborough who coached backs most recently at that pretty decent program called Plant.
