There are still several areas the Bucs need to improve upon, including Coach Jon Gruden’s sideline presence.
Gruden apologized for his antics in yesterday’s game in which a FOX microphone picked up Gruden yelling obscenities.
“I have a lot of work to do. I’m doing my best,” Gruden said. “I embarrass myself and my mom and my family sometimes.
“I’ve got to show much more poise in that situation.”

Gruden’s actually seemed to have toned down his tirades on the sidelines recently, and I’m sure that probably has something to do with his kids. I think his oldest two are on the sidelines for a lot of games, especially home games. They’ve seen his arguments and heard his language I’m sure, but he has appeared to at least toned them down for their sakes. I respect him for doing that.

It is good that Gruden apologized…not that it makes it okay. It was unfortunate that the microphone picked it up. In his defense, I have used some of those words myself (just not near a microphone). Sometimes it is hard not to get caught up in the moment. It is great that he has that intensity.

That’s why Tony Dungy never won a Superbowl in Tampa because he was always like, “oh, the official made a horrible call or mistake, that’s cool. Oh my offense, defense, and quarterback are playing poorly, it’s okay, no big deal, that’s life.” Gruden tells them how it is and that’s the only way some people will listen and pay attention. So, lay off my boy Gruden and go watch Soccer or Tennis.

This is football, folks…
The National Football League! Situations become hectic, and foul words may be spilled. We should not be critical over a coach, a great one at that, for using foul language on the field? This is an emotionally-charged game and emotion can get the best of everyone. Coach Gruden is not to blame, FOX Sports should be more careful about where they place mics and cameras, during such an intense contest.
Coach Gruden is a very intense and passionate coach. He expects and wants to win every single Sunday! For his team and for the loyal fans!
Go BUCS!

When one has been exposed to pressure and a little profanity comes out, it should be understandable.
When I was in Vietnam, f-words became a part of my vacabulary. In fact, when I returned, I found myself making hyphenated words such as abso-f’ing-lutely.
I still have to watch myself in stressful situations.

Gruden’s “Are you out of your mind? Are you out of your f@#%-ing skull?” is the funniest thing I have ever heard.
And for all of Gruden’s flaws, can we stop trying to canonize Dungy. The guy is gone because he couldn’t win a Super Bowl with the High School offense he was running here. The Bucs would have never won a Super Bowl without Gruden, and the only reason Dungy won a Super Bowl is because he inherited a real NFL offense in Indy.
And I for one am glad that my NFL coach is not giving speeches about how homosexuals should not marry. He should worry about his own family.

Same f’n winners that cry about something every week. If you don’t like the way he acts on the sideline, like he always has. Pull for the f’n colts then. Fox putting a mic by gruden was no mistake.

I may have a sin or two, but never had a stome…

As it was stated “Let them without sin cast the first stome”. Might be a good point to remember, everyday.

Football is a game of emotions. When players and coaches are locked in tense struggles, its only understandable that people will let those emotions occasionally get the better of them. To sit here and criticize coach Gruden for dropping an F-bomb or two is simply ridiculous. Are we that scared of our own shadows in this country that now we’re even going to criticize a football coach for saying a bad word? C’mon!!! I’m sure there are FAR more important things in the world than a coach cussing. Get a life people!

I love his passion and the way he expresses his thoughts…..that what makes him CHUCKY. Anyone that doesn’t like it can leave him to _ucky alone:-) I got a kick out of it yesterday….times 2.

Good thing Gruden realizes how embarrassing and offensive he can be. His f-bombs are outrageous, especially juxtaposed against his predecessor’s grace under pressure and the humility of the miraculous QB who is devout in his faith. Ideal time for a New Year’s Resolution!

You can’t really believe any coach’s apology for being emotional during a big time game. They’re here to do what it takes to win the game and sometimes that involves asking the referee “Are you out of your mind? Are you out of your fuc*ing skull?”
People who find this offensive should do us all a favor and quit trying to spread thier self righteousness. Not everyone sits on a wooden bench on Sunday morning and feel they have to spread the “word” to all others. You’re not supposed to be so judgemental anyways, Hmm…
The only shame Gruden should have for this is that little Duecey may have been paying enough attention to the game to hear Daddy’s tirade.

Gruden owned up to it and commited to improving.
Now lay the F off him.
I like my Buc team a little greasy and spicey.

Give me a break. One thing’s for sure: anyone that would complain about language in football didn’t actually PLAY football. I laugh now remembering the things my coaches called me when I ran the wrong route in practice.
