LAND O’ LAKES – The Gators’ rash of injuries is basically over except for the pink cast on LB Shadow Williams’ left wrist and hand.
Williams, who missed one game due to the injury and has been playing only defense with the cast for the last three games, will meet with a doctor Thursday. If all goes as planned, could get the cast removed in time to return to fullback for next Thursday’s game with Sunlake.
The cast has thus far prevented Williams from playing offense, due to the difficulty he would have in carrying the football. It has also affected his defense, albeit slightly.
“It’s a little different, you can’t wrap up as much,” Williams said. “I’ve talked to the coaches and if the cast comes off, I want to get back to being a fullback and linebacker.”
