The final game of pool play for the Land O’ Lakes boys 9-10 Little League squad Saturday was rained out. The game, against South Fort Myers, will be played at noon Sunday.
Land O’ Lakes needs a win against South Fort Myers in order to potentially advance to the state semifinals. The tournament is held at the Land O’ Lakes Little League complex located at 3032 Collier Parkway in Land O’ Lakes. A map to the complex can be found here.
In the first of three games in pool play, Viera rallied with 11 unanswered runs for a 15-12 win. Land O’ Lakes bounced back with a 5-2 win over North Springs earlier Saturday. The top two teams in each of the two pools advance to the semifinals. If Land O’ Lakes beats South Fort Myers, both teams would finish pool play with a 2-1 record.
The semifinal games will be held later Sunday afternoon.
