Two of Robinson’s top junior football players have picked up their first scholarship offer.
Running back J.J. Hubbard and receiver/kick returner Frankie Williams each landed an offer from Western Kentucky, a Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision) program that competes in the Sun Belt Conference.
Hubbard was the Knights’ leading rusher (699 yards) in 2009, while Williams led the team in receiving yardage (660 yards) and touchdown receptions (10) and also led the county with seven kick returns for scores.
“We’re very, very pleased,” Knights coach Mike DePue said. “We think others will follow. It’s going to be a very interesting spring around here.”
