The starting place kicking duties against Florida Atlantic will be up for grabs in practice this week, USF coach Skip Holtz said after Saturday’s win over Western Kentucky.
Senior Eric Schwartz was replaced by sophomore Maikon Bonani after missing his first two attempts Saturday – from 26 and 46 yards – against Western Kentucky, which dropped him to 1-for-4 on the season.
Bonani, who missed all of last season while recovering from a back injury and has served as the kickoff specialist through the first three games, converted his lone attempt in the fourth quarter, getting a favorable bounce off the left upright on a 33-yard try.
