Former Wesley Chapel standout and current University of Louisville redshirt freshman Kamran Joyer is out 4-6 weeks with an injury to one of the small joints of his midfoot, his father, Jack Joyer said.

Jack Joyer said the injury was diagnosed as a “Lisfranc injury,” named after the French field surgeon Jacques Lisfranc in Napoleon’s army during the 19th century. The Lisfranc joint is the space between the bones of the forefoot and midfoot and in Joyer’s case, the injury came to the ligaments that connects these joints.
The 6-foot-3, 292-pound Joyer was competing for a starting job at left guard against a senior at Louisville. Jack Joyer said coaches are hoping Kamran will be back in time to play in the Cardinals’ Oct. 9 game against Memphis.
Kamran’s younger brother, Hunter, is a senior fullback/linebacker at Tampa Catholic. Hunter has made a verbal commitment to the University of Florida.
